Dear Dehong Community, Happy Chinese New Year!
As we enter the Year of the Snake, I wish you and your families joy, prosperity, and good health. Chinese New Year is a time of celebration, togetherness, and gratitude. We are deeply thankful for the dedication of our teachers and staff, the trust of our parents, and the inspiration our students bring to our Dehong community.
The Year of the Snake symbolises wisdom, adaptability, and transformation, qualities that resonate deeply with the legacy of my great-grandfather, Yung Wing (Rong Hong). As the first Chinese-born graduate of a foreign university, he paved the way for Chinese students to pursue their education abroad. His vision was realized through the Chinese Education Mission he organised, sending 120 students abroad to study and contribute to China's modernisation. Together, as one Dehong family, honouring the pioneering spirit of Yung Wing (Rong Hong) and our connection to Dulwich College International, we will continue to nurture and empower our students to become confident global citizens with a strong Chinese heart, ready to make a positive impact on society and the planet.
